Install and use the Chrome extension

hivi autofill is the Chrome extension that connects your browser to your hivi profile. You can import visible LinkedIn profile details in a few clicks instead of retyping them.

1. Install the extension

1. Open the Chrome Web Store listing: hivi autofill.
2. Click Add to Chrome and confirm the installation.

After installation you will see the hivi autofill icon in the browser toolbar.

2. Sign in

Open the extension popup and sign in with the same credentials you use for your hivi web account. If your organization uses hivi-x in the browser, still use the account you were given for hivi; keep a normal tab signed in to your workspace when you first set up the extension if your IT team recommends it.

3. Import your LinkedIn profile

1. Go to your own LinkedIn profile page (for example linkedin.com/in/your-name).
2. Use the extension toolbar menu or the in-page control to start Import LinkedIn profile when it appears.
3. The extension reads public profile information: name, headline, location, experience, education, skills, and contact details where visible.
4. A mapping screen opens in the web app so you can review each field, adjust values, or use AI Match where offered.
5. Confirm the import so your profile fields are saved.

Frequently asked questions

What data is collected?

Only what is visible on your public LinkedIn profile. The extension does not read private messages or your connections list.

Can I re-import later?

Yes. Visit your LinkedIn profile again and run import; you will see the mapping screen to update fields.

I do not see the import control on LinkedIn.

Confirm the extension is enabled (Chrome menu → Extensions → hivi autofill). Refresh the LinkedIn page. Sign out and back in to the extension and the web app if the problem continues.

Autofill on other websites

For everyday web forms, enable Autofill per site from the extension popup, then use field suggestions or bulk fill. End-user help for that flow lives on the consumer Help center at my-id.ca/help (personal accounts).
