Frequently asked questions

Who schedules the paramedical exam?

Usually the insurer's paramedical vendor contacts the client. The broker tracks status and removes blockers (wrong phone number, missed appointment). Confirm the carrier's process.

What documents belong on the file?

Scheduling confirmation, completion notice, any lab copies the client is given, and a separate APS line if the underwriter orders one. Requirements vary by age, amount, and carrier.

Is paramed the same as APS?

No. Paramed is typically a nurse or technician visit (vitals, and often blood or urine). APS is a statement from the attending physician. Track separately.

Can clients refuse a paramed?

The insurer may decline, postpone, or offer different terms. Document the client's decision on the file — do not guess the underwriting outcome.

Does Hivi-X schedule exams?
