Secure client portal for psychotherapy documents

Secure client portal for psychotherapy documents

Portal vs email

Email and text are weak channels for psychosocial history, consent, and insurance cards — no item status, no approve/reject, scattered copies. The my-id.ca portal ties uploads to checklist lines on the therapist-controlled record.

v1 honest workflow

  1. Therapist creates client record and attaches intake checklist
  2. Therapist shares checklist — client receives secure guest link or portal link
  3. Client uploads per item on the consumer checklist view
  4. Therapist adds documents received by other channels on the business side
  5. Therapist approves or rejects each item before session one

Not v1: automated SMS/email reminders for missing items.

Client communication tip

Tell clients: "You'll receive a secure link to upload the items on your checklist — no account needed, or you can sign in to my-id.ca if you prefer."

One-time share notification email is supported. Recurring missing-document nudges are not.
