Super visa document collection for Ontario RCICs

Super visa document collection for Ontario RCICs

Super visa files collapse when the host package and the parent package live in two inboxes. IRCC reads them as one application.

Direct answer

Collect super visa documents from IRCC's forms and documents page: invitation letter, host status, relationship proof, medical exam, and private health insurance — plus identity documents. Use one Hivi-X checklist for host and applicants.

Four groups that are not optional colour

GroupWhat to collect (confirm live IRCC rules)Typical reject
Invitation + incomeHost letter including income proof and family-size listLetter missing names/DOB used in the income calculation
Host statusCitizenship or PR proof for host (and co-signer if any)Expired PR card scan, wrong person
RelationshipBirth certificate or official record naming the parent/grandparent linkUntranslated civil status; wrong generation
Medical + insurancePanel physician exam; private policy meeting IRCC super visa rulesInsurance quote, not a policy; coverage period too short

IRCC also lists local visa-office instructions, use of a representative, and certified translations.

Host income proof

IRCC allows specified ways to show the host meets minimum necessary income, often via CRA Notice of Assessment, with alternate documents if an NOA is unavailable. That is a document QC problem (complete NOA vs line-item screenshot) and a legal problem (whether the numbers meet the table). Hivi-X only helps with the first. See IRCC host financial support.

Apply from outside Canada

IRCC states applicants must be outside Canada when applying. Your consultation notes (voice + self-hosted AI summary on the checklist) can record that you covered this; they do not replace the client's travel facts.

Frequently asked questions

What documents are unique to a super visa versus a visitor visa?
Host minimum-income proof (often CRA Notice of Assessment), private medical insurance meeting IRCC's current super visa rules, and an immigration medical exam. Relationship proof that the applicant is the host's parent or grandparent is also central. Confirm the live list on canada.ca.
Can the host and the parents use the same checklist?
Yes. Label host lines (invitation, status, NOA, insurance payment if the host buys the policy) versus applicant lines (passport, medical, relationship). Guest links work for overseas parents.
Does Hivi-X validate insurance coverage amounts?
No. You read the policy against current IRCC super visa insurance rules. Hivi-X tracks whether a complete policy PDF was uploaded and approved.
Must the applicant be outside Canada?
IRCC instructs that you must be outside Canada when you apply for a super visa. That is eligibility advice you give — not a Hivi-X feature.
Is parent sponsorship the same file?
No. PGP is permanent residence with undertaking income rules. Super visa is temporary. Separate templates.
